Yksi isoimmista haasteista alkoholiriippuvuuden hoidossa yksilön ja yhteiskunnan kannalta on, että apua saavat vain ne, jotka ovat pohjalla. Ennaltaehkäisyyn ja varhaisen vaiheen apuun ei ole riittävästi panostettu.

Nykyiset varhaisen vaiheen hoitomenetelmät eivät vastaa toiseen isoon haasteeseen: ne, joiden ongelma ei vielä näy ulospäin, eivät hae apua leimautumisen pelossa — eivätkä he saa maksusitoumuksia tuhansien eurojen hoitoihin. Niinpä he jatkavat juomista ja ongelma pahenee.

Se että päästämme ongelman pahenemaan, maksaa pelkästään Suomessa jopa 3 miljardia euroa vuodessa. USAssa kustannus on 223,5 miljardia dollaria.

Suomessa alkoholin vuoksi ennenaikaiselle työkyvyttömyyseläkkeelle jäämisen hinta on 900 miljoonaa euroa vuodessa. Alkoholista johtuvat poissaolot maksavat työnantajille 282–424 miljoonaa euroa vuodessa.

Aloite on tullut asiakkailta

Soberisti on auttanut satoja suomalaisia vapaaksi päihderiippuvuudesta vuodesta 2021.
Tähän saakka palvelu on toiminut verkkosivuille koodattuna, mutta haasteena on ollut se, etteivät kaikki asiakkaat uskalla tulla yhteisöön ja vertaistapaamisiin.

Etenkin tunnetut ja merkittävissä rooleissa toimivat henkilöt jättävät nämä osiot väliin, sillä eivät halua tulla tunnistetuiksi. He pelkäävät – kuten kaikki varhaisessa vaiheessa apua hakevat – alkoholistiksi leimautumista.

Asiakkaillamme on ollut käytössä I am sober -sovellus, mutta he eivät koe sitä omakseen. He toivovat, että Soberistin palvelu olisi omassa taskussa, omana sovelluksenaan aina käytettävissä.

The initiative came from customers
